Small Actions, Big Impact: How Thales is Taking On Mental Health Awareness Week
Category: Wellbeing (Financial/Mental/Physical)
Thales is taking action for mental health this Mental Health Awareness Week (11-17 May)
Mental Health Awareness Week is a chance for all of us to come together, focus on good mental health, and take simple, meaningful action to support ourselves and each other. With this year's theme of 'Action', find out more about our plans to mark the week across the UK, and get involved!
Mental Health Awareness Week is an annual event dedicated to promoting mental wellbeing, reducing stigma, and encouraging open conversations about mental health. This year, it falls between 11-17 May, and the theme is Action - bringing to life the small but meaningful things we can do to support our mental health and wellbeing.

Sometimes that action is a conversation, a change in habit, reaching out for support, or making use of the resources available to us. Throughout the week, we will be shining a light on the actions we can all take to support wellbeing, while encouraging everyone to get involved in the activities taking place both UK-wide and locally across our sites.
Events at Thales across the UK
We’ll begin the week with a learning session hosted with our partners at Mindset Practice, exploring how self-belief is key to supporting wellbeing. This session will look at the link between the way we think about ourselves and our overall wellbeing, and will help colleagues reflect on the actions they can take to strengthen self-belief and support their own mental health.
Wednesday 13 May: Wear It Green Day
On Wednesday 13 May, we’re inviting colleagues across the UK to take part in our Wear It Green day.
Wearing green is a simple but visible way to show that mental health matters here. It helps make wellbeing more visible, sparks conversation, and reminds us that we all have a role to play in creating a supportive workplace.
Whether your action is making time to recharge, checking in more intentionally with others, encouraging healthy boundaries, or creating space for honest conversations, your voice could encourage someone else to take action too.
Wear green. Take action. Make wellbeing visible

Friday 15 May - Fireside chat: taking action through life’s challenges.
To close the week, Carrie Bruno, our Head of Wellbeing, will be hosting a fireside chat with colleagues who will be sharing their personal experiences of how challenging life events have shaped the way they continue to take proactive action to support their wellbeing and mental health.
This conversation will offer honest reflections, practical insight, and an important reminder that looking after our mental health is not a one-off activity, it is something we continue to invest in over time.

How you can take action using the support available to you
Mental Health Awareness Week is a good opportunity to remind ourselves of the support available all year round through our wellbeing portal and wellbeing support guide.
Sometimes taking action starts with something small, exploring the portal, reading the guide, booking an appointment, or reaching out for support.
