This year 2 of our leaders at Bank of America were selected to be featured on the OUTstanding LGBT+ Role Model Lists.
Darren Rickards
Managing Director, Head of Corporate Banking, Central Europe, Middle East & Africa
Darren joined the bank in 2000. He is a member of the bank's global LGBTQ+ Leadership Executive Council and is Executive Co-Sponsor of the LGBTQ+ Pride Network in EMEA. He hosts and gives talks to WebEx region-wide town halls and LGBTQ+ Pride and Ally panel events both internally and externally, including featuring high-profile LGBTQ+ role models like Mohsin Zaidi. He hosted the 'Gender Does Not Fit in a Box' panel with a focus on EMEA and APAC as well as the 2020 Courageous Conversation for Global Corporate Banking audience. He initiates conversations and dialogue on LGBTQ+ topics in the offices throughout the Gulf, Russia, Israel and Africa where such topics are seldom, if ever, raised. He also mentors junior team members through their own 'coming out' journeys. Darren was also appointed as founding member of the Inclusive Business Campaign Advisory Board for the Institute of Directors with a focus on LGBTQ+ inclusion at Board level for companies across the UK.
As an LGBTQ+ champion for Prime Services, Joanne proactively engages Bank of America’s (BAC) footprint across the UK & Ireland via small group meetings to highlight the work of the LGBTQ+ Network & Ally Program. Gilmoran also formed a company-wide strategy for 2021 focusing on intersectionality and ensuring proactive collaboration with clients and communities, and kickstarted a new talent acquisition strategy in March 2021 after observing the lack of transgender representation at BofA’s Europe offices. Joanne Gilmoran is an active member of and drives collaboration between the LGBTQ+ Pride Network and Parents & Carers Network, while also initiating collaboration with the Multi-Cultural Leadership Network (MLN) in EMEA.
She was also invited as a panel speaker for Bank of America at an InterInvest event, an LGBTQ+ network in the UK set up for the investment industry community to discuss how Bank of America runs its LGBTQ+ Network & Ally Program.
