Eversheds - UK construction jobs growth needs diverse talent

Michael Conroy-Harris, construction expert at Eversheds, has commented on figures on the promise of a UK construction jobs boom.
Conroy-Harris said: ‘It’s incredibly encouraging news that the recovery in UK construction is being predicted as strong enough to need 200,000 more workers (an increase of nearly 10 per cent) in the next five years.
‘The reality, and it’s an exciting one, is that the industry will need to attract diverse new talent in at grass roots level, and we will need to see innovative ways of developing that talent to meet the demand. We also need to see the government (on both sides of the election) remain committed to long-term plans, such as infrastructure, to provide a stable environment to develop the future.’
