Job opportunities for Graduates in London and the South East
Category: Industry News, Competition, Research, education, Opportunity
JOB OPPORTUNITIES for graduates have grown this year, with 62,750 entry level jobs across the UK listed in June 2015 – a 15.7 per cent increase on 2014.
According to new research from the jobs database provider Adzuna, 50 per cent of those jobs are in London and the south east.
Figures from the Office for National Statistics show that in the three months to the end of April, unemployment among 16-24 year-olds was 16.1 per cent, at 740,000. That figure drops to 475,000 when those in full-time education are excluded.
Despite this, competition among the more than 350,000 university-leavers this year is still fierce, with 35 graduates for every entry level job listed in London and south east. For the rest of the UK, the research said that the figure drops to roughly four graduates for every position.
