ITV have never been one to shy away from LGBT topics. From talk show debates and TV dramas to prime-time documentaries, ITV encourage a speak up, speak out and stand proud attitude when it comes to the documenting of the obstacles the LGBT community face. It’s no surprise then that ITV have been supporting their transgender colleagues behind the camera as well as on it.
ITV Pride hosted a special event for colleagues around Trans inclusion. The event followed their All About Trans workshop that marked Transgender Day of Remembrance. ITV hosted a lunch and learn for their Manchester colleagues across ITV, BBC and Channel 4. The introduction to their new Transitioning at Work policy was discussed by Head of HR, Trisha Brady, alongside the vital progress ITV have made around Trans inclusion this year.
The aim of the event was for colleagues to improve their understanding of the difference between Trans, Gender-Fluid and Non-Binary. Updates were also received from ITV Pride Chairs, Matt Scarff, recently recognised on the FT OUTstanding Leading LGBT+ Executives List, and Georgina Marcantonio, about what ITV Pride has been up to over the past year.
