February is LGBTQ+ History Month - a month-long annual celebration of lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, and non-binary history, including the history of LGBQT+ rights and related civil rights movements. In the UK it's celebrated in February each year, to coincide with the 2003 abolition of Section 28 and 2022 sees the 50th anniversary of the very first Pride March in the UK in 1972!
During LGBTQ+ History Month, each week we will share just a little of the journey that the LGBTQ+ community has been, and is still, on.
