Hi, I’m Clare and after 30 years working in Defence my current role is the Programme Director for the Armed Forces Recruiting Programme that is responsible for placing a new contract to recruit future personnel into the Royal Navy, Army and RAF. This role operates from Army Headquarters, Andover and is a true example of a Whole Force team consisting of representatives from each of the single Services, both Regular and Reserves, civil servants, and professional services. The combined knowledge, skills and experience across this team is truly phenomenal.
After joining the MOD in 1993 as an Admin Officer I have had the opportunity to work across a number of different functions spanning procurement, consultancy and most recently programme and project management. Being in the MOD provides a truly exceptional opportunity to work on some of the most complex and rewarding programmes generating rapid skills development.
I have also benefitted hugely from the investment MOD has made in me and have benefitted from the flexible working opportunities on offer. As a member of the Senior Civil Service since 2016 I also enjoy the opportunity to give something back and to support the future leaders in Defence to develop their careers.
