Eversheds has won Law Firm of the Year (31+ partners) at the 2016 Yorkshire Legal Awards.
The awards, held at the New Dock Hall in Leeds on 13 October, are organised by Barker Brooks Communications, publishers of Leeds & Yorkshire Lawyer magazine, and are judged by a panel from the Yorkshire legal community to celebrate outstanding talent across the region.
Eversheds was recognised for making a significant impact in regional, national and international markets. Notable contributions to the local community included the launch of a new legal apprentice scheme, Trailblazer level seven apprentice scheme, which Eversheds launched in conjunction with BPP University; support for the Northern Powerhouse, specifically on the delivery of the South Bank Development Scheme in Leeds (on which a team from Eversheds advised); and contribution to the Leeds community in providing a pro bono advice clinic with BPP.
Paul Cotton, Leeds senior office partner, commented:
“We are very proud to have been recognised by the Yorkshire Legal Awards as ‘Law Firm of the Year’. 2016 has been a strong year for the Leeds office and this award is a testament to the team’s hard work and our commitment to the region and beyond.”
Earlier this year, Eversheds also received the 2016 Rainmaker Award celebrating the biggest and best deals in Yorkshire’s corporate finance community. The Endless acquisition of Kier, on which our team advised Endless, won the Public Markets Deal of the Year, and the firm also led on two of the three transactions shortlisted for International Deal of the Year (Sale of Hesco Bastian and Parker Hannifin acquisition of President Engineering Group).
