ESG Report 2025/26: warmer homes, more social housing and £9 million for residents
Category: Social Responsibility (Charity/ Volunteering/Environmentalism), Career Resources
Our annual ESG Report sets out what we achieved this year across sustainability, resident support and governance, and where we still have work to do.
Our ESG Report for 2025/26 is now published. It brings together our performance across environmental, social and governance measures in one place, so residents, partners and investors can see what we have delivered and hold us to account for it.
£9 million into residents' pockets
The figure we are proudest of this year is £9 million. That is the additional income, benefits and financial support our teams helped residents to secure over the course of the year: money that goes towards rent, food, energy bills and the everyday costs that have squeezed household budgets hardest.
Behind that number are thousands of individual conversations, benefit checks and applications, and it represents one of the most direct ways a housing association can improve residents' financial security.
Warmer homes, cheaper to run
Improving the energy efficiency of our homes remains one of our largest long-term commitments. This year:
- 77% of our homes now reach a good standard of energy efficiency, at EPC Band C or above
- We completed 798 retrofit projects, making those homes warmer and less expensive to heat
Retrofit work matters on two fronts. It reduces the carbon footprint of our stock, and it lowers bills for the residents living in those homes. The remaining homes are the harder cases, and getting them to the same standard is the challenge ahead of us.
864 new social homes
We delivered 864 new social homes this year, adding to the supply of genuinely affordable housing at a time when demand across our regions continues to outstrip it.
Resident satisfaction: progress, not success
Overall resident satisfaction rose from 63% to 67% this year. That is movement in the right direction, and we would rather report it plainly than dress it up. It also means roughly a third of our residents are not satisfied with the service they receive from us, and closing that gap is the clearest measure of whether we are getting this right.
