On Wednesday 9 October, we ran four seminar sessions led by a Nuffield Health therapist to help open-up the conversation about mental health at dunnhumby. It was brilliant to see so many people taking part to learn more about supporting their own wellbeing, and the mental health of others. We hope our colleagues found the sessions useful and were able to take away practical tools and advice.
The sessions we ran covered the following topics, and form part of our ongoing commitment to our employees’ mental health and wellbeing,
World Mental Health day across the UK&I
This World Mental Health Day we said #HelloYellow by asking dunnhumbians to wear yellow to work, and help raise money for the Young Minds charity, showing people they’re not alone with their mental health.
Thanks to everyone who wore yellow, donned a yellow sticker or simply donated to the cause in Brook Green. The campaign got everyone talking and lifted spirits with so many bright colours around. We ran a competition guessing the number of sweets in the jar and the lucky winner received a free massage from our on-site holistic therapist.
In Manchester our people had fun getting involved with games in the office including golf putting, hula hooping, Rubiks cubes and a riddle solving challenge, as well as taking a break with an onsite therapist offering 20-minute massages. They were also treated to a range of homemade healthy snacks and delicious cakes.
The Dublin office held an hour long ‘Connect Café’, a nationwide event taking place across Ireland highlighting the importance of protecting mental health in the workplace. They also ran a mindfulness & meditation webinar in partnership with healthcare provider Irish Life.
In total we raised over £300 across the UK&I for Young Minds – thanks for all your involvement and donations!
