Closing the Disability Employment Gap with BNY Mellon

Did you know: Over 1.3 billion people live with some form of disability, representing 17% of the global population. Yet the disability employment gap remains large.
How can we close that gap? That was one of many areas discussed as we hosted a panel conversation in New York & London with Goldman Sachs and BlackRock on the topic of Intersectionality: Possibilities with a Disability.
Senior leaders Martin Small and Jacqueline Arthur joined CEO Robin Vince in kicking off the event at our New York headquarters, followed by a panel discussion in London Fiona de Paor-Evans moderated with Danielle Shoffman, Qassim S., and Antony Innes that covered key ways businesses can leverage disability inclusion and build allyship with closing remarks by Hani Kablawi, our Head of International & Executive Sponsor of HEART. Key actions include:
- Attracting, recruiting and retaining high-caliber diverse talent
- Improving inclusive hiring, onboarding and management practices
- Highlighting characteristics, contributions and perspectives of employees with disabilities
- Ensuring accessible, appropriate and effective working environments
