Ambitious entrepreneur, Roni Savage, was just named Business Person of the Year at the Black Business Awards 2018.
She’s the Managing Director and CEO Jomas Associates Ltd, an innovative company of environmental and engineering specialists. She founded the company in 2009, and business has grown exponentially every year since. In 2017, she attained a £2 million turnover.
She explains her goal with Jomas was, “to turn over £50,000 and deliver great customer service and high-quality work to a small selection of clients working on my own.”
“Through referrals and by following my vision of providing a customer focused service, I was able to generate revenues of just over £200,000 in that first year. Since then Jomas Associates has grown, on average, 30% annually.”
Collecting the award Ms Savage said, she was, “determined to challenge the status quo.” And she would help to bring more women into engineering to plug the skills gap. “This award gives me the assurance that so much can be achieved irrespective of gender and race, she said. She added, “I’m looking forward to inspiring and empowering others to do the same.”
