Celebrating the Contributions of Women in West Yorkshire

International Women's Day is celebrated annually on March 8th and this year the theme is "Choose to Challenge". In West Yorkshire, communities and organizations will come together to mark the occasion and celebrate the achievements of women in the region. To highlight the importance of gender equality, events and activities are planned throughout the area, including rallies, marches, networking events and cultural performances.

In addition, local businesses, schools and community groups are encouraged to get involved and show their support for women's rights. By coming together on International Women's Day, the people of West Yorkshire can make a real difference in the fight for gender equality and empower women to reach their full potential. Let's choose to challenge and create a more inclusive and equal West Yorkshire for all.

This year, we're taking a closer look at the talent and brilliance of some of the most inspiring women in the arts, literature, film, sport, and entertainment right here in West Yorkshire.
