We are delighted to have won the public sector Hajj Award for our work supporting pilgrims on Hajj this year. This was the fourth annual Hajj Awards. The awards recognise contribution from UK organisations in providing services to British pilgrims.
Our cross-platform national media campaign worked to improve awareness of our five top tips:
Check for ATOL protection.
Research your trip: Check your travel company's name on our online database.
Check if your package includes a visa.
Watch out for hidden costs, such as baggage allowance and accommodation transfers.
Check financial protection if booking with non-UK travel companies.
We worked across social media, radio and traditional media, targeting appropriate communities based on location, and providing our advice in four different languages: Bengali, Punjabi, Urdu and English.
Andrew McConnell, Head of Media at the Civil Aviation Authority, said: "The whole Civil Aviation Authority team is extremely proud to have received this award. Thank you to all of our colleagues, as well as the other public sector agencies and government bodies that continue to work to keep Hajj pilgrims protected."
