Parents, carers and their children from across Camden attended the annual Celebrating Parents family fun and information extravaganza at Haverstock School on Saturday (22 October).
Attractions at the free event included dance, arts and crafts, bouncy castles, table tennis, football, climbing wall, Flamenco and cheerleading performances, face-painting, fire engine, smoothie bike, activities for under threes and much more.
The event was organised and run by Camden Parent Council, parent volunteers and young people in conjunction with Camden Council and other local partners.
More than 500 parents, carers and their children attended during the afternoon. The theme for this year’s event was ‘Healthy Minds and Healthy Lives’.
The Mayor of Camden, Councillor Nadia Shah, visited stalls and attractions and presented certificates to volunteers from the Parent Council to thank them for their work in organising the event.
She said: “It’s through talking to parents and carers that we can get a better understanding of the challenges they face and how we can support them to become more resilient. My chosen charity, the Anna Freud National Centre for Children and Families, provides some of these vital services in Camden to transform the lives of local young people experiencing mental health problems.”
