We’ve surveyed a cross section of women to determine what they most want from this network, and used the information to shape its purpose and goals. We’ve developed a name and logo, created an inbox, database, as well as forming a steering group of volunteers who will play a greater role in helping to move things forward. We’re also talking to other BBC women’s networks to see how we can work together.
We'll be sharing regular newsletters; including topics such events, training, mentoring and hot topics, such as the gender pay gap.
We’re thrilled to have the BBC’s Director of Content, Charlotte Moore as our Executive Sponsor and look forward to working with her to help create a BBC where every woman can reach their full potential. Over 200 members have joined BBC Women so far and we’re growing every day.
All initiatives are open to women and anyone who identifies as female, gender-fluid, or as non-binary.
BBC Women at DiverCity
The first BBC Women event takes place in London from 4 – 7 December as part of the DiverCity festival. We have our own ideas on what this session should be based on, but would be interested to hear what you’d like to see be the subject of our inaugral event?
DiverCity is an internal festival aimed at engaging staff with all aspects of diversity and inclusion through a series of inspiring sessions, including guest/panel interviews, discussion, workshops and more.
