Ding, ding, ding! Alfred Harry, a cleaning operative who has worked at our St Helen’s office in London for more than 30 years, had the honour of ringing the bell to launch the Living Wage Foundation's latest campaign at the Museum of London. The bell is an important symbol for the Living Wage. It featured in the first meetings about the Living Wage campaign in the early 2000s when community leaders listened to hundreds of people talk about the financial challenges many London workers were facing. Stuart Wright Property Director at Aviva and Chair of the Living Wage Foundation Advisory Council spoke about the important progress made since the first discussions about the Living Wage, 17 years ago. The campaign is designed to encourage more City financial and professional services organisations to join more than 100 companies in the City who have already invested in their people by signing up. Look out for Living Wage messages around London. We’re proud to say that since 2006, we’ve paid all London-based colleagues no less than the London Living Wage. Now all of our UK employees, including employees of third-party suppliers who work on Aviva sites, receive at least the LivingWage.
