Apprenticeships at ITV extend to ITV Sport

ITV Sport has joined other departments to offer an apprenticeship scheme starting in September 2017. Read on for more information and how to apply.

The ITV Sport production team is responsible for all of ITV’s in-house sport programming. This includes LIVE international football, including the World Cup 2018; rugby union, including the Six Nations and the Rugby World Cup 2019; Horse Racing, including weekly Saturday meetings and all the major events - the Grand National, Cheltenham Festival, the Epsom Derby and Royal Ascot; Snooker and Darts; British Touring Cars Championship and the French Open tennis championships – all LIVE; plus an array of other highlights shows and sports documentaries.

You'll be working alongside industry professionals to enable the smooth and efficient running of the department on a day-to-day basis, while supporting the Production Managers with programme administration both in the office and on location. During the year, you will also undertake a Level 3 qualification in Broadcast Production.

This is a full time role from Monday to Friday (37.5 hours per week - some weekend working required).

What we’re looking for

Talent is important to us. We're looking for people with creativity, resourcefulness and initiative. You’ll be a team player, who can learn quickly and can prioritise your workload.  We want you to support your team so we are looking for someone who can talk to people at all levels and can pay attention to detail. You will have excellent administration and organisational skills and you’ll learn key production management practices that will really help you in your future career.

Eligibility

Due to the nature of this apprenticeship, it would suit school/college leavers from 16 years of age; you are only eligible to apply if:

• You have lived within the UK/EEA for a minimum of 3 years consecutively
• You have at least a Level 1 qualification in Maths and English (GCSE or equivalent, grade D or above)
• You have not completed, or part completed, a degree or other Level 4 qualification
• You do not already hold a Level 3 qualification in the same subject

What you’ll get

You will receive an apprenticeship salary of £14,000 and a year of valuable training in the workplace.  Your commitment to learning will be recognised; ITV Apprentices work towards a nationally recognised qualification in Broadcast Production, so this opportunity is specifically for people just starting out (we accept applications from aged 16), without a degree or Level 4 qualification.  We offer apprentices a personal development programme and additional support, so this is more than just a job.

If you are shortlisted to the second stage of the recruitment, you will be invited to attend an assessment workshop be held on Tuesday 1st August (subject to change). Interviews will be arranged following on from this.
