Disability confidence at Macmillan Cancer Support

Welcome to VERCIDA website.
Skip to main contentMacmillan has spent more than 100 years helping people living with cancer. From the moment someone is diagnosed with cancer, we're there with all the information, support and guidance they need, to help everyone with cancer live life as fully as they can.
We know that cancer can disrupt your whole life, and affects everyone differently. Cancer impacts more than your physical health, it can impact relationships, jobs, finances, emotional wellbeing and so much more. It can be made worse simply because of who you are and where you live.
But we’re here to change that.
Join Macmillan as a colleague or partner organisation and you'll be working with a bunch of talented, passionate people to make life better for everyone living with cancer across the UK.

As an organisation, it is one of our strategic objectives to represent and reflect everyone living with cancer, regardless of who they are.
To be able to achieve this, it is essential that we build a fully representative and inclusive organisation, where everyone working here feels they can be themselves and realise their potential.
We want to become an organisation where we truly reflect and represent the communities we serve in everything we do to support people living with cancer.
Clear targets for representation
By 2025 we want our organisation to be 20% ethnically diverse and 16% disabled to reflect the UK population.
Diverse shortlisting
We are empowering all hiring managers to look wider than technical ability, to embrace difference and diversity that each candidate can bring to the table.
Diverse panels
We ensure that all recruitment processes have two assessors to enable the benefits of diversity of thought in the process and decision making.
Underrepresented communities
We are working with charity providers to reach individuals from communities where are under-represented to build a more diverse organisation.
We want to ensure that all our colleagues feel they belong at Macmillan and that they can be themselves in everything they do.
Training for all
Everyone has opportunities to develop and access learning which is right for them, including coaches, mentors, development support, training, professional qualification funding and on the job learning.
Flexible working
We are a flexible first organisation, encouraging flexible working with condense hours, part time working, core hours, home and dual location working and flexible bank holidays.
