Job Description - PIT Technical Project Manager
The Amazon Workplace Health and team is looking for a passionate, results-oriented Technical Project Manager to define and implement Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) initiatives in Europe (EU). You will be responsible for driving large-scale EU PIT projects that continuously improve associate at Amazon.
As a PIT TPM you will be responsible to (1) drive EU PIT improvement projects (2) develop and refine PIT operational ideas to leaders and (3) develop roadmaps for large and scalable changes to operations and drive them to delivery. You will work with several business units to understand specific PIT operational risk, assist in the development of PIT operational processes, identify new PIT technology solutions and then work with engineering/operational teams to deliver them on an aggressive schedule.
This position is remote with the requirement to travel 50% of the time within the EU.
Responsibilities The responsibilities for the PIT TPM include - Manage PIT projects within the EU that improve operational . - Deep dive PIT incident / injury data weekly to target at risk processes and develop improvement projects to address risk. - Develop PIT score card for EU network using truck telemetry data. - Coordinate with global PIT SME's to define and implement best operational practices. - Review proposed modifications to building designs that affect PIT operation. - Manage the PIT WIKI page that outlines PIT use by manufacture, truck type, and available options. - Work with all Amazon business units using PIT to ensure their needs are met. - Create standardized PIT use modules for each Amazon business unit. - Research and evaluate PIT technology options and weigh the cost/benefit analysis. - Develop working relationships with Amazon PIT vendors used in EU. - Define requirements for new PIT initiatives and ensure operational requirements are met prior to deployment in EU. - Manage PIT request for quote (RFQ) documentation to ensure vendors are aligned with our PIT requirements.
Minimum Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or other related technical field. - At least 6 years relevant experience, with 3+ years of proven technical project management experience. For this specific opportunity, we are seeking individuals with experience integrating PIT and material handling equipment. - Experience driving counter balance, reach trucks, order pickers, walkie riders, and turret trucks. - Ability to analyze large data sets and define problem statements/projects based on findings. - Knowledge of EU PIT training requirements. - Strong time management, prioritization, problem solving, decision making, influencing, and conflict resolution skills. - Experience installing racking solutions in a warehouse environment. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner to a variety of audiences including executives and non-technical leaders. - Exceptional collaborative and relationship skills including the ability to discover the true PIT operational risks and underlying needs of a business unit. - Demonstrated experience at leading PIT improvement efforts across operations - Ability to travel 50% of the time
Preferred Qualifications - 10+ years of proven technical project management experience. For this specific opportunity, we are seeking individuals with experience integrating PIT and material handling equipment within operations.
