About this vacancy
We have an exciting opportunity for Band 5 Nurses (newly qualified or with experience) to work Pyecombe Ward, part of the MedicineDivision andAcute Floor Directorate.
Pyecombe Ward is a 27 bedded acute medical ward, caring mainly for people with acute respiratory diseases on Princess Royal Hospital site. As an acute medical ward we also deliver care to people with other general medical conditions so there is opportunity for you to develop your acute medicine skills.
We are committed to develop Pyecombe Ward as a centre of excellence for acute and respiratory medicine this is a truly exciting role for someone looking to gain skills in acute care (such as Non-invasive ventilation, Tracheostomy Care, Acute Asthma care, Chest Drains and acute management of Chronic Respiratory conditions such as COPD and Bronchiectasis). We have also taken part of the Patient First Improvement System programme that aims to give frontline staff tools to make changes and improve not only the care delivered on the ward but also their work environment. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of this incredible project and be an active member on change and improvement.
The right applicant will be integral within the ward team in delivering high quality care and potential to supervise junior staff and nursing students in their development.
Your philosophy should be to look after our patients with skill, kindness and compassion and to provide your staff with strong leadership where they can achieve their developmental milestones and gain a variety of skills and abilities that can be used in this field or transferred onto other career pathways.
We are looking for newly qualified nurses and experienced nurses for our vacant posts within the field of acute medicine. You will need to have excellent clinical and organisational skills, be an effective communicator and have the ability to care for a number of allocated patients with changing needs over the course of their in-patient stay.
