What is the Role?
As SHE Risk Manager, you'll be responsible for delivering a comprehensive SHE risk management system throughout all SSE Renewables Business Units, including Onshore Wind, Offshore Wind, Hydro and Capital Projects. You'll be accountable for preparing the annual risk reviews and the continuous review of all business SHE Management System workload, along with the preparation of plans to actively prioritise and deliver improvement in a consistent and valuable manner.
Some of your other main accountabilities will include;
- Review and maintain all SSE Renewables SHE risk related management and SHE risk procedures including any supporting documentation.
- Contribute to the development of safety techniques for hazard management including risk assessment, Modelling tools / software with examples of ALARP incorporated into decision making relating to the risk application.
- Influences senior management decisions on risk and approves mitigation and monitoring options.
- Review all risk related incidents & high potential occurrences - provide an overview of the adequacy of incident investigations and ensure lessons learned are shared.
Skills and Experience
To be successful in this role, you should be qualified to degree level or equivalent, preferably in an engineering or process engineering discipline, or similar. Membership to the Institute of Risk Managers would be advantageous.
We're looking for you to be experienced in techniques used for SHE Risk management tools e.g. Process Hazard Reviews, HAZIDs & Project Safety Reviews, etc. as well as SHE Auditing, incident management, investigation, reporting and use of incident management systems.
As an individual, you'll pride yourself in your systematic approach to tasks, with the ability to identify and analyse problems, understand risks and implement appropriate solutions.
