Job description

Amazon Global Logistics (AGL) is dedicated to building, managing and operating a global logistics network that enables selection from anywhere in the world and delivers customer orders to anywhere in the world, cost effectively. We are looking for a customer-obsessed Senior Program Manager to lead transportation initiatives. As a Senior Program Manager, you will help solve a variety of technical challenges in the logistics space. You will play an active role directing a portfolio of projects, evaluating business and functional requirements to ensure we create and deploy flexible, scalable platforms to allow unfettered growth across all of Amazon's business lines. You will also invent new features to support new business initiatives and functional needs. In addition, successful candidates will be able to lead by example, balance development responsibilities while participating in cross team efforts including architecture planning.
To be successful in this role, you should be comfortable gathering requirements across retail and trans systems, creating and maintaining technical plans and diving into the technical details to understand the nuances and complexities involved. If this sounds like you, let's talk more.
Responsibilities include:
• Will be responsible for driving the technical components of new logistic flows, countries expansion and carriers launch in close collaboration with AGL Program/Project Managers and Operations Team including requirements collections, negotiation with external 3PLs Tech Teams and internal interactions with multiple Tech Teams in charge of deploying the needed actions..
• Will anticipate bottlenecks, own and manage multiple projects that span a variety of functional areas and geographies. This position involves regular communication with senior management on project status and risks. Cross-team coordination, project management and executive presentation skills are essential.
• Manage relationship and tech discussion with Logistics provider's Tech team including joining regular detailed business operations reviews with carriers to drive accountability and ensure Amazon's standards and requirements are being met
• Scope new carrier and country launches, compliance mandates and drive the necessary BRDs and resource planning in order to assure business and projects timelines will me meet on-time
• Work closely with various AGL internal teams (Procurement, PM, Capabilities and Ops) to troubleshoot defects and optimize technical solutions and processes

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree
• 3+ years of Program Management experience managing Technical programs in a related industry (experience owning a program/product/feature, scoping requirements, planning milestones, project management and working with technical teams)
• Ability to translate business requirement into use cases and/or technical specifications.
• Strong knowledge of Program Management
• Strong analytical/quantitative and data analysis skills
• Experience in working with multiple internal/external stakeholders to identify/collect/implement technical requirements related to logistics flows
• Be independent thinkers, fully capable of making their own assessments of problem areas and finding effective solutions.
• Strong organizational skills, tracking multiple test executions simultaneously and are able to synthesize the results

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Advanced degree (MBA, MS) in a technical field.
• Previous experience in Logistics and optimally interactions with 3PLs and carriers
• Strong influencing skills and comfort with negotiating and driving timely decisions
• Strong time management and multitasking skills
