Job description

The Leadership and Development Team within Global Specialty Fulfillment (GSF) is looking for a Learning & Development Senior Program Manager who will be responsible for the creation and management of onboarding and training programs for the leadership population of multiple businesses across GSF. The Sr. Program Manager will lead a team of program managers who build, execute, measure, and improve onboarding programs for GSF WW. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership capability (develop the best) and will be able to communicate effectively, have bias for action, balance resources/prioritization, and think big to provide the highest quality training programs for the GSF leadership population.

This position reports to the GSF Manager of Learning and Development, EU. Additional responsibilities include collaborating with other teams on process optimization to make jobs more productive, safer, and producing higher quality output with easier to learn roles. In this role, you will interact with senior leaders in Operations, Human Resources, Safety, Security, and your organization to determine the strategy for managing GSF leader onboarding programs, keeping pace with organizational change management, and making data-based recommendations for process improvement and simplification.

The primary responsibilities include:
• Lead a team of program managers to build, execute, measure, and improve/simplify onboarding programs for the L3+ population in multiple GSF businesses.
• Develop strategies and processes in partnership with other team leaders to ensure effective delivery of training programs for leaders in GSF.
• Balance speed, resources, and training needs for the GSF leader population in multiple businesses.
• Create and manage the communication strategy for promoting and highlighting key training processes and activities across the network.
• Contribute to and influence worldwide training processes and strategies for the GSF leadership population.
• Aggregate and analyze data regarding leader proficiency and growth opportunities to determine leadership development needs across the GSF leader populations.
• Design new metrics and enhance existing metrics to support the future state of business processes and ensure sustainability and scalability
• Analyze and solve business problems with focus on understanding root causes and driving forward-looking opportunities
• Work strategically with country and regional L&D and operations leaders to identify innovative learning solutions to localize training programs and work toward reducing / eliminating the need for training.
• Identify emerging technology solutions to enhance the learning experience and reduce the resources/cost/lead time required to develop and execute training.
• Lead your team to partner with internal peers and stakeholders to to develop standardization, where applicable, across multiple GSF onboarding programs.
• Drive alignment to standardize learning solutions as well as gain feedback from the operational teams on areas of improvement.
• Identify emerging technology solutions to enhance the learning experience and reduce the resources/cost/lead time required to develop and execute training.
• Manage a diverse team of high performing individual contributors.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Completed Bachelor's degree from an accredited University or 2+ years of Amazon experience.
• Understanding of industry learning trends and best practices, adult learning theory, and instructional design principles.
• Experience developing and implementing goals and strategies based on broader organization goals.
• Experience gathering, building, interpreting, and communicating performance metrics to multiple organizational levels.
• Experience and proficiency with MS Office.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to adapt well to fast-paced environments with changing circumstances, direction, and strategy.
• Experience developing training in a variety of delivery modalities (virtual, hands-on/experiential, instructor led, remote classroom, synchronous/asynchronous) for a variety of audiences
• Able to travel nationally and internationally as required

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Proven ability to lead a remote team of high-performing individual contributors.
• Proven ability to influence others without having positional authority.
• Excellent organizational skills and program and project management skills.
• A strong focus on internal customers' needs and satisfaction, with an emphasis in demonstrating return on investment in training. A qualified candidate will be focused on how training contributes to the company's bottom line and will have the analytical skills to justify programmatic decisions with data.
• Experience working with cross-functional teams in a global environment.
• Ability to deal with ambiguity and prioritize, manage, and complete projects with tight deadlines.
• Technical aptitude to be able to quickly learn new technologies and develop various learning solutions.
• Advanced experience and proficiency with MS Office, specifically Excel.
• Experience developing and/or managing training programs for a variety of audiences (hourly associates, management/leadership).
• Familiarity and/or experience with program management tools, content management systems, instructional design tools, and translation processes including Amazon's Learning Management System (KNet), SIM, Playbook, Articulate Storyline, Camtasia, World Server and ATMS.
