Job description

As a Senior Associate specialising in financial modelling you will work beside some of the industry's top thought leaders designing and implementing cutting-edge solutions to challenges faced by the world's leading insurers.

The Role

Your main responsibilities will be as follows:

Clients
Provide life actuarial consulting to clients, focused on financial modelling, including:

  • Advanced financial modelling approaches and systems
  • Finance Transformation
  • Regulatory changes, including Solvency II and IFRS17
  • Deliver superior, consistent project management for assigned clients
  • Interface with colleagues from other practices and regions on assignments that reflect the client's broader business issues
  • Develop a trusted advisor relationship with client contacts through effective communication and efficient, quality execution of projects
  • Demonstrate commitment to Towers Watson professional standards in managing analyses and in communications with clients

Thought leadership

  • Lead or contribute to the development of the company's intellectual capital including plans for taking this to market
  • Think issues through and devise new approaches for creating opportunities
  • Establish a public reputation in a chosen specialism through the production of articles and presentations

Financial and business development Meet goals for billable hours, intellectual capital development, and revenue generation

  • Develop and present proposals to potential clients, demonstrating the economic value of the company's offerings

  • Use contacts within current network to obtain introductions to new contacts; work to develop supporters for company's products and services



People

  • Build relationships internally and collaborate effectively on cross-functional teams
  • Demonstrate natural ease and effectiveness when dealing with clients/colleagues at all levels
  • Serve as manager or mentor to more junior associates


The Requirements

We are looking for candidates with skills aWillis Towers Watson is an equal opportunity employernd qualifications that may include:

  • Experience in a consulting or financial services firm, with a focus on life insurance
  • Depth of experience in financial modelling, proficient in coding actuarial software (e.g. MoSes, RAFM, Prophet)
  • Experience of changing or implementing actuarial reporting processes
  • Knowledge of Solvency II reporting requirements.
  • Experience of successfully managing projects and producing quality deliverables on time and within budget
  • Strong client relationship, interpersonal and team skills
  • Well-developed verbal communication skills
  • Self-starter attitude and ability to work within ambiguity
  • Flexibility and proven ability to diagnose and resolve issues
  • Strong analytical and creative skills
  • Enjoy training/mentoring junior staff
  • The ability to see the “big picture,” leveraging the resources of related practices to address the clients' business challenges
  • Availability to travel on an as needed basis, domestically and internationally
  • Completed the exams for FIA/FFA qualification or equivalent
