SD WAN Product Specialist / SD WAN SME (Subject Matter Expert)

Role purpose

The role is to strengthen the SD WAN product team while collaborating with cross-functional teams. This will include:
  • Acting as a SD WAN product expert to collaborate with Sales, Delivery & Engineering to answer the questions regarding SD WAN features, customer needs and in-life customer expectations
  • Follow up of ongoing product implementations and take corrective actions related to requirement implementation (internally and/or towards the customer) if needed.
  • Reporting and follow-up on customer feedback on services as well as customer needs and market evolution towards the product
  • Assist in driving product requirements based on detailed understanding of customer requirements as well as competitive alternatives
  • Providing Sales and Engineering product support
  • Drive POC planning for selected critical accounts
  • Create and document product demonstration setups. Deliver demonstrations to end customers. Maintain customer/sales facing documentation.

Knowledge of the VPN and SD WAN markets as well as understanding of relevant technology and service provider processes are necessary. SD WAN is focus growth area for Colt going forward.

Key accountabilities
  • Be the expert of the SD WAN product and support major customer opportunities and RFPs
  • Work with Sales, CRM and marketing teams as a SD WAN point of contact from product contributing to roll-out and manage lifecycle of product features and clarifications
  • Collaborating with Product manager to manage and monitor that all product capabilities are meeting customer requirements and initiate any necessary mitigation
  • To create and maintain product documentation for sales for e.g. Product and marketing collaterals, Ordering guides and process forms(EOF etc)
  • Attend and host sales meetings, workshops, trainings, webinars and customer demos for SD WAN product and portal

Key performance indicators (financial and non-financial)
  • Timely delivery of the SD WAN deliverables and collaterals
  • Market traction of new product developments
  • Ability to educate and support the sales on SD WAN product

Relationships and key contacts

Product management is a key role with a wide range of supporting units:
  • Sales and Pre-sales
  • Engineering and Operations
  • Regulatory and Legal
  • Finance
  • Marketing

The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent team working and interpersonal skills to work effectively with these functional units.

Role specific requirements

Skills & Experience & Qualifications
  • Strong experience in Product management and sales support environment. This includes customer relationship management, product feature & roadmap planning and competitive analysis.
  • Solid background knowledge of VPN/SD WAN services and the relevant marketplace (competition, customer profiles, suppliers...)
  • Excellent articulation skills (verbal and in writing) and proven expertise in presentation techniques. Able to interact with press and analysts.
  • Being able to present and position complex topics from a customer perspective
  • Excellent English language skills (writing and verbal) with knowledge of at least one other language
  • Degree or equivalent in a related technical or business field.

  • Ability to influence people outside of hierarchical control
  • Focus on delivery and getting things done
