IT Configuration Team Manager and Process Owner

An exciting new opportunity has presented itself within the Service Management Department for a dynamic and energetic IT Configuration Manager

A natural communicator both verbal and written with strong influencing skills. You will have strong influencing and stakeholder management skills with the ability to work collaboratively and be able to interpret and present technical and often complex information to the business.  Must be confident in challenging others whilst maintaining and building professional relationships.  You will have extensive experience of IT Configuration Management and of managing teams.

However, by law we can only do this if we can't find a suitable resident candidate. Typically, this role generates a high volume of resident applications. Who we're looking for
• Good facilitation and leadership skills• Broad technology background gained from extensive experience in application and/or infrastructure roles and how this relates to IT Configuration Management.• Ability to prioritise demanding workloads and remain calm and objective under pressure• ITIL foundation certification with practical understanding of ITIL framework and best practice IT Configuration Management process with a minimum 6 years' experience applying these in a complex IT environment.• Excellent experience of successfully delivering in an IT Configuration Management role.

It would be nice if you also had:

• Proactive analysis of Incident and Problem data to identify improvement opportunities in IT services and their delivery and support. This may extend to technology components, operational processes and procedures, support models and team structures. Improvements might also be identified in business practices too• Representing an organisation on external bodies
What you'll be doing
• Ownership and governance of the end-to-end IT Configuration Management process used by Nationwide's internal and external IT support teams and project stakeholders.• Definition and management of Key Performance Indicators to measure effective and efficient use of the Configuration management process aligned with risk and control standards.• Provide oversight and leadership to Configuration Management team in their ownership of significant workload, acting as a point of guidance and escalation to ensure suitable progress on day to day activities and the continuous improvement of IT Configuration Management.• Advocacy and promotion of IT Configuration Management at a senior management level, gaining buy-in and support to its ongoing development and use.• Measurement of the potential and realised benefits of IT Configuration Management, using these to prioritise effort and publicise success.• Continuous improvement of the IT Configuration Management process and its interfaces with Incident Management, Change Management, Risk Management and other key
