An exciting new role within the Global Operations team focusing on implementing and managing a data governance framework across the firm. Working closely with colleagues across the organisation including the Group Director of Data Sciences, the role will be responsible for sharing strategy and implementing a roadmap which results in improved data quality, delivery and service to internal and external clients.
Working with colleagues across Group and LGIM. Design the LGIM Data Governance Framework, including:
Definition of data roles and responsibilities across the organisation
Negotiating and agreeing with data stakeholders their ownership, oversight and maintenance responsibilities
Data dictionary identifying where data is mastered, sourced and copied and by whom
Defining data services between data suppliers and consumers, including operating model, SLAs, quality and support obligations, quality reporting etc.
Producing a roadmap for the framework rollout and working with business and IT teams to ensure it is successful
Lead on campaign to educate and inform stakeholders of the value of Data Governance and progress against plan
Leading the implementation of the L&G data governance product Collibra
Assess data quality across key services and produce metrics and plans to implement improvements through greater use of products such as Curium, Xceptor, Duco, Blue Prism etc.
Ensure compliance with data related policies, standards, roles and responsibilities, and adoption requirements (GDPR).
Establish the standards to be applied per data set and ensure the appropriate roles and processes are in place to maintain them going forward
Ensure that data sets and the supporting business processes are documented accordingly and that the data dictionary is complete, accurate and up to date.
Collect and report on the agreed set of metrics and KPIs highlighting the levels of data quality
Identify opportunities to reduce the cost of data.
Investment management data experience
Strong understanding of data management concepts such as Data Governance, Data Lineage, Data Models, Data Quality, Control Frameworks, Data Architecture, Data Analysis
Prior experience of defining and implementing data governance within investment management.
Previous experience implementing a data governance product, preferably Collibra
Ability to identify and propose innovative solutions
Previous experience of working with Agile teams
Managerial ability to look at demand and capability and identify and propose opportunities to improve service and throughput.
Excellent communication skills, collaborative style, able to influence at all levels in the organisation
