The role in question is within our Radiation Protection and Characterization Business, where we support several customers in characterizing sites and facilities. The role will involve managing data input GIS and similar data management software's. There will also be an opportunity to expand skills beyond data management, supporting in the delivery of characterization projects applying the Data Quality Objectives Process.
Key Responsibilities include:
Map production and data visualization;
GIS analysis and modelling;
Data collation and management;
Supporting the management of web GIS solutions;
Supporting Application of the Data Quality Objectives process; and
Contributing to technical reports and presentationsDegree-level qualification in Geographical Information Systems (GIS), geography or earth/environmental science. The degree must have included a GIS module as a minimum.
A MSc degree in GIS or Geomatics or equivalent relevant work experience would be advantageous;
Practical experience in the use of GIS packages, ideally ESRI ArcGIS; and the production of map outputs with a good attention for detail;
Strong analytical skills and be able to apply them to analyzing problems and finding solutions to a range of challenges;
Ability to collaborate effectively as part of a team, but also exhibit initiative in working individually on discrete tasks;
Demonstrate excellent communication skills, including being able to write high quality, concise reports;
Experience in the use of MS Office tools including Excel, Access, Word and PowerPoint; and,
Must have or be able to Attain SC Clearance, and meet nuclear site security requirements
Practical experience in the use of Visual Sample Plan would be advantageous;
Knowledge of Site or Facilities characterization; and
Experience of working on Civil or MoD, Nuclear Projects.
