In the heart of rural Teesdale, the GSK site at Barnard Castle is a key member of the Global Manufacturing and Supply (GMS) organisation producing some of the world's leading dermatological, sterile, inhaled and oral medicines for a wide range of diseases.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for two high-calibre Engineering Technicians to join the Vials Engineering Team on a permanent basis at Barnard Castle GSK, to maintain our manufacturing facilities, packaging environments and utilities to support site infrastructure.

You will work as part of a team to provide a comprehensive engineering service to meet business and regulatory needs of a department. You will provide technical support to product stream and other support areas, including support of projects, line improvements, quality, safety and CI actions.
You'll be a time served maintenance technician, ideally with an HNC. Your previous experience may include a controls, electrical or mechanical bias, and you'll have the opportunity to expand your skills & experience working in a Multi Skilled environment. Additionally, you may have worked in Cleanroom environment or on Aseptic Processing plant.
The ideal person will provide support for equipment repairs and continuous running adjustments, whilst ensuring work is carried out to GMP standards and in compliance with both company and external Standards

GSK Barnard Castle is one of the most complex sites globally in the GSK network, This is a great opportunity for an enthusiastic, driven, hardworking, team player to join an established technology team.

Key responsibilities will include:
• Day to day breakdown cover of pharmaceutical manufacture, filling, and packaging equipment as well as the building facility and associated services.
• Complete Maintenance activities (Work Orders).
• Support for area projects.
• Support for new product introduction.
• Change Control initiation, completion and sign off.
• Use of GSK's Enterprise Resource Planner (SAP) for - MERPS activities. Orders, Notifications, Data Maintenance
• Ordering of machine spares.
• Continuous Improvement, safety & quality actions.
• Equipment upgrades through continuous improvement.

Please be aware when applying that this is a shift based position. This Shift Pattern alternates from Lates, Earlies and Nights over a 3 week time period. Average hours over the 3 week period - 37½ hours.

Why You?Basic qualifications:
• Relevant Apprenticeship / HNC / HND or equivalent qualification
o Multiskilled / Mechanical / Electrical / Mechatronics
• Experience with root cause analysis to prevent problems from re occurring.
• Experience working within a highly regulated manufacturing environment
• Provide a fault diagnostic and technical assistance service
• Resolution of technical issues with machine manufacturers
• Production of engineering reports

Preferred qualifications:
• Knowledge of pharmaceutical process and packaging equipment.
• Experience within a highly regulated production or packaging environment (eg clean-industry, FMCG, food, electronics or similar).
