Job description

The Role

The Platform Lead is accountable for the vision, strategy and management of a technology product or problem domain within Corporate Risk & Broking (CRB). They define and manage the delivery of product feature sets or assess fitness for purpose of technology products to deliver business outcomes.

The role also encompasses the need to work closely with the architecture, service and technology groups to ensure the roadmap caters for innovation in delivery, cost effective use of resources and conforms to the strategic I.T. vision whilst maintaining a high level of service to the user base

  • Strategy: Setting a product vision and strategy both technical and business driven
  • Ideation: Gather and promote the most relevant ideas into formed deliverables
  • Product and Technical roadmaps : Plan and prioritize features and technologies that advance the platform, reduce cost and promote stability
  • Liaison with business representatives at all levels, subject-matter experts, business analysts, product owners, scrum-masters, developers, testers and architects to ensure that all requirements are within scope of the proposed solution.
  • Participate in user groups and practitioner forums comprising of key stakeholders across WTW to constantly improve the internal customer experience, gather additional requirements and shape future offerings
  • Lead the Eclipse team, managing responsibilities and assignments.

The Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field is required. Experience can be substituted for Degree
  • Experience in solution delivery and product/application development functions including experience in leadership roles
  • Leadership skills and experience in managing and influencing technology teams in a non-hierarchical environment
  • Solid track record working with development function to deliver solution within the defined project methodology
  • Ability to recognise innovation and introduce relevant products/technologies to the WTW Tech offering for our customers
  • Ability to work under pressure to tight timelines and without direct supervision
  • Organised and methodical
  • Excellent analytical problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Experience of working within an Insurance Broker on a servicing platform application
  • Varied SDLC experience inclusive of Agile Scrum, Waterfall and RAD
  • Proven demonstrable experience of:
    • Using the Eclipse platform or other insurance broking platform (Essential)
    • Management and delivery of large scale change
    • Delivery and maintenance of I.T. infrastructure estates
    • Working with third parties and vendors
    • Building and developing high performing teams
    • Leadership qualities.
