The Metropolitan Police LGBT+ Network
The Metropolitan Police LGBT+ Network’s aim is to:
Make the Metropolitan Police the employer of choice for the LGBT+ Community via Recruitment and Retention, improving the working experiences and conditions of our current, and future, LGBT+ Officers and Staff.
Engage and work collectively with staff associations and senior leaders to explore Intersectionality and Inclusion and tackle joint issues such as Fairness and Discrimination, Mental Health, and Hate Crime that better support our people and our public.
Improve the quality of service including investigation and quality of care delivered to our public especially victims of Homophobic and Transphobic Hate Crime by working with communities, partners and stakeholders building further on public confidence and making the Metropolitan Police the most trusted police service in the world.
The Network aims to undertake activity in the following key areas over the 2019/2020 period;
Welfare support, guidance and advice four our LGBT+ officers and staff
Working with Stonewall Workplace Equality Index steering group to implement key recommendations
Undertake community engagement to drive up confidence and satisfaction in the Met
Commit to partnership working on the national platform to identify and embed best practice
Provide mentoring and coaching opportunities for our membership
