Social mobility is the relationship between the starting point in your life and where you end up as adults - taking into account your income, occupation, status and background. It's about being able to reach your full potential, no matter what your background. It's about creating a culture where you are supported to grow and achieve your personal ambitions - and indeed being encouraged to reach beyond these, no matter what type of school you went to, where you live(d), your financial situation, or whether you have been to university.

There are many factors which impact on social class, status, and mobility, including (but not limited to) race, gender, and disability - so all these areas are relevant here.

Our social mobility vision and five-year strategy

To lead by example as a social mobility employer, specifically:

• To be recognised as an inclusive organisation where people from all backgrounds can work, develop and succeed; and
• To use our skills and resources to enable people from disadvantaged backgrounds across the UK to make the most of their potential, whether at PwC or elsewhere.

Our vision is underpinned by three priorities:

• Collaborate with others and use our influence to achieve the multiplier effect.
