LGBT+ & Allies at Lendlease

At Lendlease, we’re committed to supporting and celebrating our LGBT colleagues, and our aim is to create an environment where every individual feels comfortable sharing who they are, so they can bring their ‘whole self’ to work. Our network was established in 2015 and we offer support and advice to all Lendlease staff on LGBT+ issues - so whether you're LGBT+ yourself, an ally, or just inquisitive, we're here to help.

We aim to:

• Provide a supportive environment for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) partners, staff and allies to network and develop professionally;
• Promote an inclusive, diverse, and respectful work environment;
• Position Lendlease as the distinctive firm and employer of choice for the LGBT community;
• Identify business development opportunities in the community at large;

• As a founding member of Building Equality, an alliance of construction and engineering firms committed to championing LGBT-inclusion, we are working collaboratively to help make the construction industry a place where LGBT+ people can be themselves at work and perform at their best

Rainbow Laces Campaign

Lendlease took part in the Stonewall no-bystanders campaign and we successfully took part in the rainbow laces campaign where over 3,000 laces have been issued to our construction workers rainbow laces to wear in their site boots.

Student Pride

We joined our Building Equality partners for Student Pride which is an event taking place across three days, where over 1700 students from 170 global universities attend for a weekend of discussion aimed at empowering young LGBT people feel comfortable in their identity. Students from across the UK, and around the world travel to our event which brings all LGBT students together.

Marching for Equality

Lendlease staff joined 300 others from across the construction industry to march under the banner of ‘Building Equality’ at Pride in London in July 17.
