Disability Network, Workability, at QBE

QBE’s Workability network celebrates and raises awareness of people with disabilities, both visible and non-visible. Their mission is to:

• Promote awareness of disability and its impact
• Create a more inclusive place to work for our colleagues and clients
• Create a culture where people with all abilities are recognised and valued for their talents

The network is open to anyone who believes in equality, inclusion and opportunity for all at QBE and believes that this should not be limited by any form of disability or by any obligations around the provision of care.

In 2019, Workability is focusing on carers, with an aim to raise awareness and ensure that all our employees who are carers outside of work have access to the necessary support and resources that QBE provides.

At QBE, the network promotes various awareness weeks throughout the year. Topics they have supported so far include Autism, Deaf awareness, Dementia and Carers.

QBE are proud to have signed up to the Department for Work and Pensions’ Disability Confident scheme. This scheme helps organisations to recruit and retain disabled people and those with long-term health conditions, so that they can fulfil their potential and achieve their goals.

In 2018, QBE were honoured to be rewarded 2^nd place for the Organisational Award at the British Dyslexia Gala.
