CSR at Atkins

We’re encouraging and supporting our people to make an even greater contribution to the social, environment and economic health of our communities. 

At a Group level, we focus our efforts where we believe our skills can do the most good; acting as patron of RedR (an engineering relief charity) and supporting such organisations as Engineers Without Borders.  

At a local level, our people raise money and volunteer time and skills in support of a wide range of community based activities.

The charity has responded to every major disaster in recent years including the earthquakes in Nepal, the Syrian conflict, Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines, floods in Pakistan and the Haiti earthquake. Over the last year, RedR has trained 4,915 people in 35 different countries in order to deal with such disasters. A number of our colleagues have been seconded to areas hit by natural disasters to provide technical support, helping to do things like re-establish water supplies and build schools.

Each year, our graduates challenge themselves to raise money for RedR. From long-distance walks, runs, cycles, mountain climbs, bake sales and quizzes, there’s nothing the Atkins' teams don’t think of or take part in to show us their commitment and dedication to RedR. All funds raised go to where they are most needed – delivering lifesaving humanitarian training and helping communities prepare for, respond to and recover from disasters all over the world.
