In order to submit your Black British Business Awards 2016 nomination, please download the applicable PDF nomination form for your application and save it to your computer before filling it in. Once you have completed the submission form please email it to: [email protected] on or before 3 May 2016.
By highlighting inspirational black men and women in UK business and celebrating their successes and achievements, the BBBAwards aim to uncover, recognise and celebrate inspirational role models and ambassadors who represent the very best of business success. Being selected as a finalist, or in fact winning an award, will attract attention and support from industry, the press, current and prospective employers and relationship partners.

Tips for Successful Nominations
1. It is perfectly fine for you to nominate yourself. We encourage you to do so! 2. It is also fine for you to submit a nomination on behalf of someone else without them knowing. If they are shortlisted for an interview, they can then decide whether or not to participate. 3. Avoid a rushed job! Plan ahead and take your time to consider the best content for an outstanding submission within the deadline (Tuesday, 3 May 2016). 4. Reflect on the nominee’s career as a whole and over time, we recognise that success often does not happen overnight. Give us enough detail so we can fully grasp the nominee’s achievements taking into account their journey, challenges and milestones. 5. Treat this like an elevator pitch – tell us absolutely everything that you or the nominee are most proud of AND do it in a succinct manner. Stick to the point and avoid unnecessary information. 6. The most impressive submissions have included highlights relating to some of the headings below: a. technical or creative excellence that has been recognised internally and/or externally; b. effective leadership contributing to, project delivery, profitability, business development; c. achieving success beyond immediate business objectives, expectations or targets; d. involvement in driving important business initiatives or tackling business issues; e. outstanding contribution to cultural transformation of teams or organisations; f. evidence of significant influence on internal and/or external stakeholders; g. unique or outstanding contributions to the relevant profession or sector; h. evidence of exceptional motivation, purpose and burning desire for results; i. notable contributions externally, including as a volunteer, advocate, public figure; j. anecdotal evidence that others are significantly inspired by the nominee; k. impressive metrics – sales targets, percentage increases/decreases, retention statistics; l. secondments, stints abroad or working with international colleagues/clients/customers; m. cutting edge inventions, process improvements, digital innovations, joint ventures; n. examples of dynamism and daring to be different or challenging the status quo. 7. Absolutely keep within the word limits. 8. Nominations that include answers that are significantly below the word limit are very unlikely to be considered. Nominations that exceed the word limit will be marked down by the judges. Double check that all the contact details are correct.
Provide evidence to support your nomination
Remember, you can submit supporting evidence to your nomination in the form of video links, press releases, news articles, photographs, testimonials or other items which you think will help the judges make informed decisions about the nominee. Any supporting evidence must be submitted in one document, no longer than four A4 sides and must be clearly labelled and emailed to [email protected] on or before 3 May 2016.
