Dear candidate,

I would like to thank you for your interest in joining what will be a newly created Directorate for Strategy, Culture and Education at East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust.

At EEAST we have a bold vision to ensure that the people of the East of England region are provided with excellent urgent and emergency healthcare for our communities from our dedicated team of nearly 5,000 staff and 1,500 volunteers. Our overarching aim is to place our patients and staff at the heart of everything we do, while delivering our vision of ‘outstanding care, exceptional people, every hour of every day’. Our vision is supported by our organisational goals:

However, we also have some major challenges that needs to be tackled in order to achieve these aims. In particular, we need to deliver a systematic change in our culture, developing and creating developmental opportunities for our staff with clearly defined career paths.

The roles being appointed to are:

• Deputy Director of Culture and Leadership Development
• Deputy Director of Education and Learner Experience
• Head of Strategic Workforce Planning
• Head of Talent Management & Succession Planning
• Head of Culture and Inclusivity

This is a real opportunity for innovative thinking in the creation of an exemplar strategy and education function in a Trust that has very recently created a new Executive Team. We are looking to build a strategy and education team of exceptional leaders to lead the function in attaining its goals, drive a culture of continuous improvement. Together we roll out our ambitious strategic plans and to support the Chief Executive, Director of Strategy, Culture and Education, Executive Team and wider staff on moving EEAST forward.

I am ambitious for our directorate at EEAST and truly believe this is an exciting opportunity to create a modern, fit for purpose ambulance service work force that meets the needs of our communities. There are few organisations like ours within the NHS which give you the opportunity to make a real difference for over 6 million people and the opportunity to set the agenda of urgent and emergency care across an entire region.
