To create growth and jobs, we support the sector across the UK to be the most innovative, globally connected, highly skilled, and competitive in the world.

FPS makes a huge contribution to the UK economy. In 2019 it produced £200 billion (10% of GDP), contributed £100bn in taxes, was the largest net exporter of financial services in the world and attracted nearly £1bn of foreign direct investment. It also employs 2.3 million people, 2/3 outside of London. Its vital that this engine of UK jobs and growth keeps pace with a dynamic, unprecedented scale of global change.

At the City of London Corporation, our commitment to FPS is driven by a dedicated team in our Innovation and Growth Department. Through our work in IG, we work closely with the industry, trade associations and government. We act as a horizon scanner, thought leader and catalyst for change, so that FPS continues to flourish across all parts of the United Kingdom. Our priorities are:

The Innovation and Growth Department is recruiting a Business External Affairs Director. Their role will be to engage with the full range of major FPS firms, as well as government and regulators, to achieve significant, strategic outcomes.
