Smartphones - the new way forward? 

I was talking to a friend today about mobile phones, this friend is older than myself. She was saying that her husband had found that she had 2,000 text messages on her phone, which hadn't been deleted! She was going to have to ask her children how to do that.

This got me thinking, landlines are being taken over by the use of mobile phones. This is because people are able to keep in contact easier as communication is more accessible.

There may come a when landlines are going to become redundant. There will be people who find it difficult to use a mobile phone, or for health reasons don't want to use one, as some may be worried that it would interfere with their pacemaker.

Technology is rapidly becoming more advanced, but with the advances, people are becoming left behind or may be left with no communication. With no communication there is isolation.

The digital world has made things easier for those who have grown up with it, but for those who are over 50 and looking for a job it can be difficult as they may not have that same confidence.

For those who are younger, it is not a problem to learn new technology, but for some it is more daunting. To faced with the possibility of having a smartphone rather than a landline, and learning, what I have said in earlier blogs, to embrace it.
