“I started in 2016 as a temp in Customer Service – I’d had some retail experience in our family business, so had some experience in customer-facing work but I’d never worked in a contact centre environment.
Once I started here, I realised that I really enjoyed it. I have had lots of training at Tesco Bank, and have progressed from temp to permanent, to being seconded as a Team Manager. I really like helping out colleagues here – my Managers have been brilliant, and I like to pass that on, so things like training, feedback, and mentoring new colleagues, as I can relate to their journey here.
I really thrived helping people and wanted a team of my own, so I applied for the Team Manager Academy, and was accepted. I got development opportunities there leading up to getting my team this year.
Sometimes I find it hard to see what others see in me, but they are always there to help and push me on – what I love about working here is that you can go and speak to anyone in our leadership team and they’ll help – they genuinely care about you.”
