Hi, I am Novraj Sidhu, Managing Director at Taylor Wimpey West London.

 

It is a privilege to run the West London regional housebuilding business, being responsible for the entire life cycle, from site acquisition to house completion and customer service. 

I've been the MD for 5 years. Previously, I was an investment banker in real estate for 9 years at Goldman Sachs.

 

What inspired you to pursue the career path you have chosen?
It was mainly the opportunity to run my own business. Being a Managing Director is a fantastic job if you have an entrepreneurial spirit. 

 

What do you enjoy most about your day-to-day work?
Working with our people to deliver value to customers, shareholders, and employees is the highlight of every day on the job.

I'm glad to be involved in our Mentoring Network, as I currently mentor 5 people within the organisation formally and informally. 

 

What significant obstacle have you had to overcome as a member of an under-represented group in order to get to where you are today?

As a British Asian, I can honestly say I have never directly faced any obstacles at Taylor Wimpey. It has been inclusive from day 1 and your value is solely determined by your quality of work.

 

What advice would you give to your younger self?

Don’t worry too much about over-analysing the problem. Focus on resolving the problem no matter how small or large it is.
