Missed Opportunities

There may have been times where we have lost out on getting our ideal job. How do we feel, frustrated, annoyed or just fed up?

Some people have put years of study in to try and get their ideal job, only to hear, "no I'm sorry, you just don't have the experience for the job" or "I'm sorry we were looking for somebody younger". Or maybe not even getting a response from the company

These are frustrating times as I myself have found. There have been times when I felt like giving up, but other things came to fill in my time. I originally wanted to become a nurse but that didn't come about because I wasn't encouraged to go ahead. I got as far as getting an interview, but meanwhile I had got a job and was firmly told that not to bother, by my family.

That is one great regret I have, but to bring positives out of a negative I have possibly been able to do a lot more in my life, because if I had become a nurse the opportunities may not have been there.

So there may be a time when we either don't get the encouragement to pursue a career or being turned down for a job, there are other opportunities. Don't get me wrong I really regret not going into nursing and will never have that opportunity, but I have learnt to try and turn a negative into a positive.

That is the hard part, when everything seems to be against you. We learn to adjust and get on with life. We need the courage of our convictions and confidence to do this.

For me this has taken me a few years to get. Encouragement and support from other parts of the family, with that came a time where I could run our own B&B, with guests coming back the following year. Then years later sit and pass exams that I would never have dreamed of passing.

So what I'm really trying to say, that while we have these missed opportunities, positives can come out of them and the negatives can be a thing of the past.
