Embracing Diversity at Pink Dot
We still feel the joy from participating in the Pink Dot event. The Pink Dot event in Hong Kong is a significant celebration of the LGBTQ+ community. It’s an annual event that promotes LGBTQ+ diversity and inclusivity. It was more than just a day out; it was a statement. We stood together, proud and loud, sharing the message of “Love Out Loud” with allies and friends. It was a beautiful reminder that our firm is part of something bigger—a movement that champions love without boundaries.
Advocating for Change at Hong Kong Pride
Our sponsorship of the Hong Kong Pride 2023 LGBT+ Exhibition was a milestone in our inclusion efforts. We walked through the mini-fair, engaged with the stories and struggles of the local LGBTQ+ community, and celebrated with local icons. These experiences have not only deepened our understanding but also strengthened our resolve to advocate for change.
Learning from Icons
To celebrate Pride Month in last year’s June, we had an enlightening sharing session by Madame Mincemeat, where she shared her insights and stories on tackling stigmas in the corporate culture regarding LGBTQ+-related issues and some tips on workplace inclusion. It was a moment of learning and laughter, where we gained insights into overcoming stigmas and promoting inclusion. It was a powerful reminder that we can all be allies and champions of diversity in our daily lives.
Celebrating Legal Milestones
The recent ruling by the Court of Final Appeal on same-sex partnerships in Hong Kong was a significant moment for us. It was a testament to the progress we’ve been advocating for, and while there’s still a long way to go, it’s a step in the right direction. It’s a victory we all share, and it fuels our commitment to continue the fight for equality.
Innovating for Inclusion
Our new email signature system is a small but significant step towards greater inclusivity. By adding pronouns to our email signatures, we’re acknowledging and respecting the diverse identities of our colleagues and clients alike.
