Gumtree Launch Local Volunteering Programme

A few weeks ago, we proudly launched a Volunteering Programme, giving everyone at Gumtree.com paid time out of their regular work routine to give their time and energy to support charitable causes that matter most to them.
We know there are so many benefits to volunteering, from developing practical skills, bonding with teammates, supporting well-being, not to mention making a positive difference in the local community.
Last week, a few of our colleagues visited Marble Hill Playcentres, a voluntary organisation and charity located in Twickenham providing children and young people of all ages and abilities with a unique and safe environment to play and be active. Once a Council-funded facility, Marble Hill Playcentres relies on the support of volunteers to keep operating.
Our team was given a mission to put their zip wire swing back into action to pass all health and safety checks. The task involved ferrying lots of wood chips to fill the base of the swing. Thanks to the work of this group, the zip wire is back in action. Well done team!
With this new Volunteering Programme, we hope to offer support to many more charitable projects.
