Global Diversity List

The diversity profession has developed organically as a branch of Human Resources over the last two decades. As yet, there are no formal qualifications required to be a diversity professional. The creation of the GDL addresses this fundamental weakness in the profession.

OUR VISION

To create the definitive global diversity standard that covers every strand of diversity, in every country, in the world. The results of the Global Diversity List will be released annually, with the first list being published in October 2015.

Why create a Global Diversity List (GDL)?

No universal, global, independent standard exists that can quantify the performance of organisations in the delivery of diversity. The creation of a GDL will address this fundamental weakness in the assessment of company performance in diversity.

The GDL will become the gold standard for diversity, globally. All organisations who wish to be seen as credible corporate players in the field of diversity will be required to be accredited by the Global Diversity List.

Founding Patrons receive lifetime membership of GDL.

Input into shaping the GDL

Founding Patrons will have the opportunity to shape the development of the GDL over the first 3 years of development. By contributing to the content of the benchmarking tool you will have the opportunity to ensure that it meets the specific needs of your organisation.

Bespoke data sets

As a founding patron, you will have the option to create a bespoke peer group against which to be benchmarked. This data will be supplied exclusively to you and in confidence.

Numerous research studies have shown that the most important factor in deciding which employment offer to accept for top diverse talent is the level of diversity and inclusion that the candidate expects to experience from the prospective employer.

All good employers claim to be inclusive and to create an environment where diverse talent can thrive, however, smart candidates do their research and will go to those employers who are accredited as great employers for diverse talent.

Becoming a Founding Patron of the GDL provides a tangible demonstration to potential diverse talent that you are serious about diversity and are amongst the most progressive employers for diverse talent.

It is a requirement for all bids for every European / US Government and public sector contract for the bidding organisation to provide full details of their diversity strategy and to demonstrate their commitment to diversity.

Becoming a Founding Patron of the GDL provides a powerful, tangible and public demonstration of your organisation’s commitment to diversity. Further, the output of the benchmarking tool provides a clear strategic framework that benchmarks globally and can be submitted with any bid for a government or public sector contract. Those organisations who become Founding Patrons will differentiate themselves as the leading players in diversity.

Support from the Economist means that those organisations and professionals who are recognised by the list will gain exceptional worldwide acclaim for their work, as the Economist has a global weekly audience of four million people, including many of the world’s business and political leaders.
