Flood and Coastal Engineering Foundation Degree (with top up BSc)

Perhaps you are looking for a career change into Flood Engineering?

Then our sponsored two year Flood and Coastal Engineering degree with work placements could be for you.

You’ll be introduced to engineering, the environment and flood risk, and your learning will be focused on the flooding hazard across the UK. This flood and coastal engineering degree will provide you with the skills to effectively deal with the issues of flooding and coastal management, allowing you to become a flood engineer of the future.

Flood and Coastal Engineering Foundation Degree with top up BSc

This is a 2 year work-based learning programme with top up BSc delivered by Brunel University London in partnership with HR Wallingford.

The Environment Agency will pay your tuition fees and you will receive an allowance of £1,000 a month while on your work placements.

You’ll spend the first 6 months studying full time at Brunel University and the next 6 months training at an Environment Agency or risk management authority office. You’ll also attend a week long summer school at HR Wallingford.

The final year is split again, with 6 months studying at Brunel University and your final 6 months training in the workplace. Students successfully completing the foundation degree can continue studies for a BSc degree in either 1 year (full time) or 2 year sponsored (part time).

ENTRY REQUIREMENT 2019/2020   

GCE A-Level: BCC, including Grade B in Maths or Physics (excluding General Studies).

BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma: DDD in Engineering, including Distinction in Further Maths or Further Mechanical Principles.

Five GCSEs at grade C or grade 4 and above are also required, to include Maths and English Language.

Closing date for sponsorship applications: 30 June 2019 . Applications to be made via UCAS. (If sponsorship places are still available after this date applications will be extended to UCAS Extra and Clearing)

Assessment Centres will take place April to June 2019 (Brunel University London)

Successful candidates will start September 2019
