Samantha Odotei's interview with Bank of England.
We speak to Samantha Odotei - Associate - Prudential Supervision
LLM - International Financial Law - King's College, London and LLB, Leicester
What do you most enjoy about working at the Bank?
I really enjoy the work I do. It's interesting, intellectually challenging, and high profile. I don't think there are many jobs like this where you can see the effects of the work you to on the financial services industry and the wider economy. It's a very rewarding experience.
What would you like people considering a career at the Bank to know about what working here is like?
There are so many opportunities for graduates at the Bank to get involved in interesting and challenging work and engage with senior figures at the Bank and from industry. This means you start on a steep learning curve, but this can be extremely rewarding for those who are proactive and want that level of responsibility within a graduate programme.
What surprised you most about joining the Bank of England?
I expected the environment at the Bank to be serious and a bit stuffy! I have been proved wrong. People here are very open and friendly and the Bank encourages a collegiate culture.
