"I joined Tesco Underwriting in 2011 after 7 years working in HR and recruitment. I was looking for a new career and even though I had no previous Insurance experience I was excited to get started with TU. The application process was quite straightforward and after my telephone interview, I completed an online test at home and was then invited in for an interview.
My first role was as a Claims Business Support team to assist customers behind the scenes. This team deals with a range of things from dealing with our suppliers and repairers to making all the payments on customer claims. I gained lots of experience in this role, and after 2 years I applied for an internal role as a Claims Negotiator in the Third Party Assist Team. This was a huge step due to my lack of Claims experience, but after being successful at interviews and taking part in all of the training I’ve really felt confident in the new role. Third-Party Assist Team is completely customer-focused and it’s a great feeling when you can genuinely help someone who has been involved in an accident. It’s nice to take the stress and hassle away from our customers.
Overall, there’s a great atmosphere here. It’s just the nice little touches at different points during the year and there’s always charity activities to get involved in if you want. There’s always lots going on and some good nights out too.
I would certainly recommend working here to any of my friends or family."
