Bank of England Launch the New Accessible £10 Note

Business Disability Forum's latest podcast is with CEO Diane Lightfoot, who meets with the Bank of England’s Director for Banknotes and Chief Cashier Victoria Cleland to discuss the upcoming launch of the new Jane Austen £10 note on 14 September 2017 and how the note has been developed with accessibility in mind.
Victoria talks about the inclusive design processes the Bank of England followed to ensure the new £10 note is accessible; from the choice of material used, the sizing of the note, the colours used and the reasons behind the slight changes in the note’s layout.
Victoria is also the Executive Sponsor for the Bank of England's Disability Employee Network. Victoria speaks about the Bank’s inclusive recruitment policy and their work around disabled access for their central site; a Grade 1 listed building founded in 1694. She explains how the Bank implemented access solutions whilst maintaining the building’s historical aesthetics.
